This splendid book was initially written in 1676, transcribed and altered in 1690 and finally published in 1823. This work was read by Muggleton who approved of its contents, being happy to let his trusted disciple fill the void left by his inactive pen. this work is the closest the Muggletonians have to a systematic theology and it establishes Tomkinson as the first rate theologian that he was. For a movement such as the Muggletonians the death of the Prophet would normally lead to the destruction of the sect, perhaps the longevity of the sect is due to the commanding intellectual presence of Tomkinson that provided the continuity required during this difficult period.
